- Practical Action web site
Practical Action works alongside communities to find practical solutions to the poverty they face. Their definition of technology includes physical infrastructure, machinery and equipment, knowledge and skills and the capacity to organise and use all of these.
- The Schumacher Centre for Technology and Development
Practical Action's UK Head Office, The Schumacher Centre for Technology and Development, is based in Bourton on Dunsmore. Practical Action moved to its current offices in 1998 and envisages the Schumacher Centre for Technology and Development – as a fitting memorial to the founder, Fritz Schumacher – evolving as a national and international centre for knowledge and expertise on technology, poverty reduction and the environment.
- Practical Action Publishing
Practical Action Publishing, the publishing arm of Practical Action, helps to build the skills and capabilities of development practitioners in developing countries through the dissemination of information in a variety of ways including books and journals, which can be bought from the online bookshop www.developmentbookshop.com.

The consulting arm of Practical Action has been leaders in the field of development consultancy for over 40 years. They provide high quality independent and professional consultancy services to governments, NGOs, aid agencies and the private sector.
- DuryogNivaran (DN)
DuryogNivaran network was established to fill a void in cross border dialogue and experience sharing among organizations, governmental or otherwise, working in the world’s most disaster-prone region.
- Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC)
As a leading regional resource center, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) works towards the realization of disaster reduction for safer communities and sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific.
- Disaster Management Centre (DMC)
Sri Lanka Disaster Management Act No.13 of 2005 was enacted which provides the legal basis for instituting a disaster risk management system in the country.
- Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC)
The Asian Disaster Reduction Center was established in Kobe, Hyogo prefecture, in 1998, with mission to enhance disaster resilience of the member countries, to build safe communities, and to create a society where sustainable development is possible. The Center works to build disaster resilient communities and to establish networks among countries through many programs including personnel exchanges in this field.
- Flood Hazard Research Centre
The Flood Hazard Research Centre (FHRC) is an interdisciplinary centre based at Middlesex University, Trent Park campus, in the School of Health and Social Sciences.
- National Institute of Disaster Management, India
The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) was constituted under an Act of Parliament with a vision to play the role of a premier institute for capacity development in India and the region.
- International Seismological Centre
The Centre's main task is to re-determine earthquake locations making use of all available information, and to search for new earthquakes, previously unidentified by individual agencies. Its output is available as a series of publications, in printed form or on compact disks. In addition, special consulting work is carried out on request.
- World Meteorological Organization (WMO)
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It is the UN system's authoritative voice on the state and behaviour of the Earth's atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources.
- National Information Center of Earthquake Engineering
The National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering (NICEE - established 1999) at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is intended to collect and maintain information resources/publication on earthquake engineering and make these availabe to interested users, as well as to undertake other outreach activities with a view to mitigate earthquake disaster.

- Rural Enterprise Network (REN)
REN contribute towards poverty reduction by improving the performance of enterprises. REN promotes processed rural agro production, under a common brand name, in national and international markets, which can be accessed by rural producers in Sri Lanka gaining REN membership, provided that their products meet the quality requirements of REN.

The Sustainable Technology Education Project (STEP) aims to increase people's awareness of sustainable technology, enabling them to recognize the economic, environmental and social impacts of their own technology choices.
- ILO Crisis Response and Reconstruction Programme
The ILO is the international organization responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards. It is the only 'tripartite' United Nations agency that brings together representatives of governments, employers and workers to jointly shape policies and programmes promoting Decent Work for all. This unique arrangement gives the ILO an edge in incorporating 'real world' knowledge about employment and work.

- Overseas Development Institute (ODI)
ODI is Britain's leading independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues. They inspire and inform policy and practice which lead to the reduction of poverty, the alleviation of suffering and the achievement of sustainable livelihoods in developing countries.
- United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR)
In Sri Lanka, UNHCR works to protect and assist people displaced by the conflict within thecountry - internally displaced people (IDPs) - as well as those returning to their homes in the north and east. UNHCR is also assisting Sri Lankan refugees returning from India and a small number of the asylum-seekers and refugees from other countries.

- Information and Communication Technology Agency
The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka is the single apex body involved in ICT policy and direction for the nation. Wholly owned by the Government of Sri Lanka, ICTA is the implementing organization of the e-Sri Lanka Initiative.
- Nenasala Project
Nenasala (Wisdom Outlet) is a telecentre project by the Government of Sri Lanka .Developed under the e-Sri Lanka Initiative which is implemented by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka.
Wikigoviya, the latest ICT initiative of Cyber Agriculture Wikipedia is a participatory and interactive web tool for agriculture development in Sri Lanka.
